"Are you sure you guys don't want to come with me and Lance tonight?" J.C.
asked. Justin, Joey and Chris all sat on the bus's couch and tried to look innocent.
"No, I have to take care of Busta," Chris replied.
"And I'm taking care of Korea," Joey said, looking at the two puppies as they sniffed his feet.
"But you guys have fun at the casino," Justin smiled.
J.C. didn't look impressed by their 'we're not up to anything' act. "This wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that the Backstreet Boy's bus is two blocks away, would it?" he asked.
"It is?" Joey asked, his eyes wide.
"I didn't even know that," Justin added, equally 'surprised.'
"I bet," Lance mumbled, trying not to smile.
"We'll be fine," Chris insisted, getting up and pushing the others out the door. "You go watch the fireworks at the casino, and we'll stay here and watch movies or something."
"Just don't get in trouble, please," J.C. said on his way out.
Chris closed the door before J.C. could say anything else, then he turned and looked at the others. They all grinned devilishly, and then Justin dragged a paper bag out of the closet.
"Do we have enough?" Joey asked as they all peered in the bag.
"I think so," Justin said. "This is a hundred and fifty dollars worth of fireworks."
"Good," Chris smiled. "Now all we gotta do is wait."

Night had fallen, and the three giggling Nsyncers crept through the cover of the darkness, heading towards the empty Backstreet Boys bus. Joey carried the bag of various fireworks, including Bottle Rockets, Turtles, Smoke Bombs, M-10s, Snakes, Fountain, and Screamers. Their plan was to set off enough fireworks to get peoples attention, then run before the swarms of teenage girls noticed them too. The girls were certain to break into the bus and take everything they could get their hands on, and it was the perfect trick to play on the Backstreet Boys this Forth of July.
"Okay guys, stop right here," Chris said, placing a hand on Joey's shoulder.
They stopped thirty feet in front of the deserted bus and found a hiding spot in the shadows. They were equipped with five lighters, which were thrown in a pile a few feet away from the bag.
"Can I do the first one?" Justin pleaded, pulling out a Bottle Rocket.
"Sure, just don't let anyone see you," Chris replied.
Justin smiled and snuck towards the bus, slinking close to the ground. He stopped a few feet away from it and set the fireworks on the ground. He then lit the lighter, casting a dim shadow on the immediate surroundings. Justin lit the fuse and jogged back to the others.
The rocket took off and soared high in the sky, whistling as it went. A couple seconds later, it exploded into a bright ball of color directly above the bus. The guys snickered and Joey grabbed a Screamer.
"Let's set them off a couple at a time, that way it'll be more obvious," Chris said, reaching in the bag and pulling out a loud and multi-explosion Turtle.
They each grabbed some firecrackers and snuck back over to the bus. They lit the fireworks at the same time and ran back to the safety of the shadows as they exploded and screamed. Some pedestrians were intrigued by the display and walked over to the bus, but they were an older couple and didn't realize whom the bus belonged to.
"Where are all the girls?" Justin asked.
"They'll come," Joey replied, having total faith in Chris's plan.
"Just keep at it," Chris whispered. "There's tons of people out tonight."
The guys grabbed another handful of fireworks and went back to their 'launch site.' They lit the fuses and seconds later colorful explosions filled the air, pulling the bus from the cover of the dark. The bag was half-empty, and still no swarms of teenage girls were there to ransack the bus.
"One more time," Joey said. "Then if no one comes, we'll stop wasting these and go somewhere else."
They all agreed and each took three more. They had one of everything and the guys were positive this would attract some attention. They each grabbed a lighter and headed back out into the parking lot to light them. Once the fuses were sparking, they took off back to the shadows to watch.
The fireworks screamed and flew into the air, the Turtles and Snaked spinning as they flew. The fountain glowed brightly, illuminating the whole bus for everyone to see. Color exploded in the sky from the Bottle Rockets. The three men smiled with satisfaction as they made the biggest display yet.
Then their eyes grew big as one of the Turtles took off in the direction of the bus. It screamed through the air and flew right through one of the bus's tinted windows, shattering the glass and setting off the alarm.
The guys looked at each other with shock. "I think it's time to go now," Justin said, getting up.
"We didn't do it!" Chris yelled as they ran back to down the street and to the safety of their bus.

"So, what did you guys do while we were gone?" J.C. asked as he and Lance got on the bus.
"Nothing, why do you ask?" Justin replied, a little to quickly.
J.C. and Lance studied them. "I don't like the sound of that," Lance said.
"What happened?" J.C. asked.
"Nothing."
"Nothing."
"Nothing."
"Uh, huh," J.C. said, not believing them.
"Are we gonna get in trouble for it?" Lance asked.
"Not with out some proof," Chris smiled.
"Is there any proof?" J.C. asked.
"No, we blew it all up," Justin smiled.
"Okay, whatever," J.C. sighed. "Tell me later. I'm going to sleep. Happy Fourth of July."
"Goodnight!" the others replied.
J.C. glanced out his window on his way back the hallway. "What the-?" He stopped and looked again, making sure he wasn't seeing things. Down the street, there were about fifty girls screaming and fighting over what looked like clothes. There were more girls getting off the Backstreet Boys's bus. J.C. looked back to Justin, Joey and Chris. "If I know what went on down there, I'll just become an accessory, and I do not want to go to jail with you three," he sighed, trudging back the hallway.
That night they all fell asleep to the sounds of fireworks and screaming girls.
